4 good reasons to participate!

1. Use your (privilege) right!

The essence of the freedom from fear is that everyone is entitled to a future in which all human right can be realized. A future in which there will be no war, where the environment is clean, where poverty has been eliminated and where the inequality between states and individuals has been done away. That is the message of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We are looking forward to creative and inspiring contributions.

2. You don’t have to fear anything!

On December 7 2023, from the 10 best entries, the jury will announce the three winners in each category at the city hall of Maastricht.

You don’t have to be afraid of the jury’s strict judgment, because they are all nice people. There is no need for fear of public speaking and stage fear. As a finalist, you will receive presentation training from an experienced speaker / artist. And all technical facilities (light, sound and video) are available to provide maximum support for your performance. See participation in the Maastricht Human Rights Prize mainly as a great opportunity to learn and grow.

3. Your charity will gain!

There are two age categories: up to 17 years and 18 years and older. Every age category is awarded a first prize of € 500, a second prize of € 250 and a third prize of € 100. Fourth and fifth prize winner’s will receive an honorable mention. All cash prizes will be donated to a charity of the winner’s choice.

4. Winning the award!

All award winners receive a work of art by Sanne Vaassen as a souvenir. A symbol of respect for your contribution to the promotion of human rights. You can register now! Your final entry must be received by us before November 13, 2023.
